Matthew Richard Barnes is a multi-disciplinary artist that loves assigning himself challenges with strict guidelines.

The challenge for this project: How can someone create something with limited resources that can spread good energy into the world? (Like a lot of it) The answer: Design a bunch of greeting cards about love, friendship, and encouragement using cut out words and pics from old magazines.

Recently, Barnes said, “If I can create something to help people share their love into the world, by sending these cards to friends, family, coworkers, whatever, then they’re spreading good vibes. My designs can help with that. If a lot of them get sent out then that means a lot of opportunities for those good vibes to ripple. Those ripples turn into bigger ripples and then before you know it, the world is a much more loving place. That seems like a pretty good mission.”

Barnes lives and works in the Midwestern city of Columbus, Ohio.
